Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Ltd. (SEIC), a consortium of Shell (55%), Mitsui (25%), and Mitsubishi (20%), contracted Moody International to provide Third Party Inspection and Verification Services on the Sakhalin ll Development Project. The Sakhalin ll Project entails the fabrication, construction and installation of two new platforms (Lunskoye A and Piltun-Asokhskoye B), two parallel pipelines, about 800 km in length, from the offshor platforms in the north via the Onshore Processing Facility (OPF) up to the Liquefied Natural Gas Plant and Oil terminal on the south end of the island, near the city of Korsakov. The project is designed to facilitate the devolopment and transportation of oil and gas for export from the Sakhalin area to international markets.

Moody, in the capacity of Third Party Inspection and Verification Consultant, was responsible for the provision of field construction inspection services. This includes materials compliance verification and receipt inspection, R-O-W preparation, overseeing all welding processes and activities, NDT operation including UT cross-checks, field joint coating operations/coation repairs, cathodic protection and electrical installations, installation of valve & pigging stations, and final examination prior to ditching and backfilling.
